Obituary from the Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri Sept. 21, 2007: Piedmont---Robert Doles "Bob" "Mc" McSpadden, Sr., 82, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. McSpadden was born July 10, 1923, in Van Buren. He was of the Baptist faith and had owned and operated a gas station in Van Buren. Mr. McSpadden had served in the U. S. Marine Corps. In May, 1948, he married Dixie K. Kirkpatrick. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Robert Doles "Bobby" McSpadden, Jr. of Van Buren and Craig Patrick McSpadden of St. Louis; one daughter Andrea Beth Blurton of Van Buren; one brother Coleman McSpadden of Van Buren; one sister Marjorie Phillips of New Madrid; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A private burial service will be in the McSpadden Family Cemetery in Carter County. Arrangements were handled by Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont.
