!Carpenter. Cabinet Maker. Both Oliver John and Almira can be officially called "Utah Pioneers", because they were both born before the railroad came to Utah! Died at age 78.

MORMON PIONEERS = crossed the plains to Utah before the coming of the railroad. UTAH PIONEERS = born in Utah before the coming of the railroad.

MISSION:

Oliver John filled a full-time mission to the Central States in 1898, laboring in St Louis, Missouri, and Illinois. His companion for two weeks at the first of his mission was Melvin J. Ballard and this may have been when the "Loaf Of Bread" incident took place.

A copy of a book entitled "THE HOUSE OF HARMON 1592-1992" by John Ray HARMON has been donated to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. It has been rebound and placed of the 4th floor of the JSMB [Joseph Smith Memorial Building] on Temple Square, under the call number of US/Canada 929.273 H228hor. At the time of printing this book was purchased at a cost of $165.00 per copy. It containes pictures and 5 page or less biographies of all the decendants of Oliver John Harmon who took the time to turn them in. A copy was placed in the library of congress. This book is now available for all to use at the library.
