Individual Details
Stanley Victor SCOTT
(22 Jan 1901 - 24 Sep 1982)
[young.FTW]
Remembered the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and how it shook up the house and how the furniture just seemed to walk across the room by themselves. And then later going up to the top of San Pablo Hill and watched San Francisco burn.
The family moved to Ord Bend where they lived and worked in a work camp building the Glenn canal 1909-1910 and then they started ranching. Stanley went to school at Ord Bend while also working for his dad. He would drive the cattle down to the river on horse back where they would feed while he went to school, and then after school was out he would round them up and drive them home. He left school after completing the 8 th grade and worked full time for his dad and mom who by now owned the Ord Store.
He ran away from home at the age of 17 and joined the U.S. Army in San Francisco, where he was sent to the 31st Inf Division which was sent to Siberia to protect American interest in the area but were in fact joining up with other Allies Armies (France England Japan) in stopping the Red Army (Bochivicks) who was led by Stalin from taking control of the Trans Siberia Railroad. This dirty little war started the day WW 1 ended and was kept secret from the public. When the leaders realized the fact that they couldn't possibly win this war, and that the public was very tired of war, they left everything to the White Russian Army and pulled out. This was the official start of the Cold War between Russia and America. FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page FIELD NAME Page
