Death
Belle Plaine, Sumner Co, Kansas - A longtime resident of BellePlaine, Ira L. Goheen, 77, died Friday in a Wellington hospital. A retired pharmacist, he was owner of the former Goheen Drug Store here. He was born August 25, 1893, at Clay Center, Kan., and had been a resident of Belle Plaine since 1921. He was a 50-member of the local Masonic Lodge, a member of the Wichita Shrine, Wichita Consistory, the American Legion, and a veteran of World War I. Mr.Goheen was the first president of the Arabian Horse Club. He was a past president of the Belle Plaine Chamber of Commerce, and member of the city council and school board. In addition to his widow, Myrtle,he is survived by a grandson, Rick Goheen of Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services were held Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church. BurialEndnotes
