Daughter of William Pearson Tillery and Eliza Ann (Seay) Tillery and the only wife of John "Jack" Riley Atchley. Born in Sewee, Meigs County, TN.
"P'line" was the beloved mother of ten children, nine of whom researchers have identified. In the following birth order, they were: Emerson Jackson "E J" Atchley, William Pearson "Pearce" Atchley, Mahala "Mamie" Tennessee (Atchley) Marshall Butler, the Reverend John Riley Atchley, Jr, Liza Ann Atchley, Priscilla Abigail "Abbie" (Atchley) Atchley, Sarah "Alice" Atchley (Atchley), Joseph Alexander Atchley, Parolee (Atchley) Atchley, and Thomas "Tom" Jefferson Atchley.
In 1877, "P'line" moved with her husband, "Jack," to Dallas County, TX. After his death, she married Jimmie Johns, but was widowed for a second time before 1900. She moved with her extended Atchley family to Kiowa County, shortly after the territory first opened to white settlement. There, she lived out her remaining days basking in the love of countless Atchley kith and kin.
At Roosevelt Cemetery, "P'line" rests near the graves of her daughters, Sarah "Alice" (Atchley) Atchley and Parolee (Atchley) Atchley, and of her brother-in-law, Joseph Alexander "Alex" Atchley.
