Death
Ernestina L. Cantu, age 88, of Floresville, Texas, passed away Dec. 20, 2014. She was born in Maxwell, Texas on Nov. 11, 1926 to Rufino Lopez and Petra Guerrero Lopez. She and Pedro”Pete” Cantu were married in Karnes City, Texas in 1945. Ernestina was a homemaker living most of her life in Coy City, Texas. She is survived by her daughters Silvia Tearpock of Selma, Texas, Yolanda Morin of Victoria, Texas, and Gloria Orosco and husband Paul Perez of Coy City; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and sisters Irene Guerra and Mary Bowers. Ernestina is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant son Rene Cantu; and brothers Gilbert, Rufino Jr., Ignacio, Rudy, Lupe, Edward and Rey Lopez. Visitation will begin at 5 PM, Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, with a rosary at 7 PM at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City. Interment will follow in the New Breman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gabriel L. Morin, Gabriel S. Morin, Danny Orosco, Josh Leal, George Lopez, and David Lopez. Funeral services are entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home of Karnes City.Endnotes
