Death
Requiem Mass was celebrated Sunday afternoon October 27, 1991 at St Cornelius Catholic Church, Karnes City, Texas for Mr Rufino Lopez Sr. Rev Stepheb Wiera officiated A Rosary was recited Saturday evening at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City. Interment was in the New Bremen Cemetery, Pallbearers for the service were Able Guerra. David Lopez, Andreas Lopez, Rene Sanchez, Alex Lopez, and Richard Lopez.Mr. Lopez was born in Torreon, Mexico on December 30, 1902 to Crensoncion and Maxilliana Medina Lopez and died in Kennedy, Texas on October 25, 1991 at the age of 88 years, nine monthe and 25 days.
Mr Lopez was married to Petra Guzman in December 1925. She preceeded him in death in 1981. Mr Lopez was a retired farmer and had lived most of his adult life in Karnes County. He was a member of St Cornelius Church in Karnes City.
Survivors include three daughters Mrs.Ernestine Cantu of Floresville. Mrs Mary Bowers of Southern Pines, North Carolina. and Mrs Irene Guerrs of Houston; five sons, Lupe Lopez of Fort Worth, Raul Lopez of San Antonio, Reynaldo Lopez of Houston, Gilbert Lopez and Edward Lopez both of Coy City; 32 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
