(1838 - 7 May 1863)

From www.findagrave.com

Enos H. Payne was the son of Enos Payne and an Unknown Mother. Some sources list him as being married to Priscilla "Celia" McCutcheon between 1864-1867. His marriage date to her was unrecorded, but the marriage was listed in Book "A" Page 7 of the Newton County, Arkansas Marriage Record. Since their only child, Clara Cordelia "Delia" Payne was born March 15, 1859 in Newton, Arkansas, it would be safe to assume Enos and Priscilla were married sometime in 1858 in Newton, Arkansas.

Enos was a Private in Company "K" of the 1st Arkansas Infantry Regiment, Union during the Civil War. Company Records indicate he was on the muster roll March 25, 1863 in Fayetteville, Washington, Arkansas. He subsequently was listed as death by Typhoid Fever in a Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 7, 1863. He is presumed to be buried in an unknown cemetery in the Fayetteville, Arkansas area.
