ISAIAH "WALLACE" COREY

(26 Feb 1856 - )

Of Wallace, Rowland Corey writes, "After obtaining his early education in our country school at Canaan he went to Horton Academy and Acadia College and graduated from Acadia in 1883. Then he went to Morgan Park Theological Seminary in Illinois. After completing his studies there he supplied for a year or more at Ravenswood, Illinois." He became a Baptist minister at Kenosha WI, a position he held for about forty years. Rowland Corey says he also served at Tremont, Nebraska. During those years he kept in touch with his New Canaan relatives. He moved to Buffalo NY before his death.

The 1861 census gives his first name as "Isack." The Jacob Corey Family Register confirms it as Isaiah. [Corey Book]
