Jul 13, 1999 Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church for Victoria Athmann, 69, who died Tuesday at Melrose Area Hospital. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. Daughters of Isabella and Lake Henry Legion Auxiliary Post 612 will pray at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Melrose followed by parish prayers at 8.
Victoria Athmann was born in Spring Hill to Peter and Isabelle (Heinen) Welle. She married Stanley Athmann on April 14, 1953, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spring Hill. The couple owned and operated Stan's Bar in Greenwald for 43 years. She was member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella and Melrose VFW Auxiliary. She was a charter member of Lake Henry Legion Auxiliary Post 612 and a 30-year member of Spring Hill and Greenwald church choirs.
Survivors include her daughter and sons, Diane Haskamp of Meire Grove, Dale of St. Cloud, and Pete of Waite Park; sisters and brothers, Lorraine Kuebelbeck of St. Cloud, Mona Schneider of Albany, Donald and Herbie of Melrose, and Earl of Fridley; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Feb. 28, 1999.
