Feb 1, 2001 Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral Upper Church for Lorraine A. Zirbes-Kuebelbeck, 72, of 827 McKinley Place, who died Thursday at Sterling Park Nursing Home, Waite Park. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud. East Side VFW Post 4847 Auxiliary will pray at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in St. Cloud, followed by parish prayers and St. Anne's Christian Women at 7.
Lorraine Zirbes-Kuebelbeck was born in Lake George Township, Stearns County, to Peter and Isabelle (Heinen) Welle. She married Jerome Zirbes on June 29, 1948, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Spring Hill. He died March 14, 1976. She married Louis J. Kuebelbeck on July 7, 1978, at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. She was employed at VA Medical Center Canteen, St. Cloud, for 25 years as an administrative assistant, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish and St. Anne's Christian Women, was a charter member and past president of East Side VFW Post 4847 Auxiliary, St. Cloud, was a member of Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post 428 Auxiliary and St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; children, Sharon Zirbes-Schepers and Jim Zirbes of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Gail Koppy of St. Joseph, Joanne Parry, Jeff Kuebelbeck and Greta Abel of St. Cloud, Lois Larson of Brooklyn Park, Barb Konsor of Holdingford, Kris Johannes of Rockville, Laurie Nixon of Bensalem, Pa., Steve Kuebelbeck of Clearwater, Louis Kuebelbeck Jr. of Julian, Calif., Karl Kuebelbeck of Long Prairie and Bill Kuebelbeck of Watertown, N.Y.; 18 stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; sister and brothers, Ramona Schneider of Albany, Donald and Herbert of Melrose, and Earl of Fridley.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, John; sister, Victoria Athmann; and one grandson. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
