The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Louise E. Thul, age 84 of Sauk Rapids will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 29 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Louise died Tuesday at Alterra Sterling House in Sauk Rapids. There will be a visitation from 4-9:00 PM Thursday and again after 9:30 AM Friday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany. The Albany American Legion Auxiliary will pray at 7:00 PM with the Seven Dolors Christian Mothers at 7:30 PM followed by Seven Dolors Parish prayers at 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Lousie Thul was born to Nicholas and Mary (Mohs) Garding near Marty, Minnesota. She married Lawrence Thul on November 26, 1945 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty. After they married, they lived in St. Joseph, St. Nicholas and Richmond before moving to Albany in 1958. Louise worked on the farm with Lawrence and she worked as a Nurses Aid at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home and then the Albany Area Hospital before she retired in 1987. She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany, the Seven Dolors Christian Mothers, the Albany American Auxiliary, the Melrose V.F.W. Auxiliary and the St. Catherines Medical Mission Group.
Louise is survived by her children and their spouses, James and Dana Thul, Princeton; Kenneth and Janel Thul, St. Cloud; Linda and Myron Krecklau, Isle; Robert Thul, Otsego; Gene and Karen Thul, Alexandria; Joyce and Robert Abeln, St. Joseph; and Larry and Nancy Thul, Alexandria. She is also survived by her sisters, Marcella Decker, Cold Spring, Bernadine Nordmann, Richmond; Dorothy Haus, St. Cloud and Anna (Victor) Koenig, St. Cloud, 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence in April of 1984, her daughter Margaret Fournier and her son, Peter Thul. She is also preceded by her brothers Gilbert Garding, Mark Garding, Hilarious Garding, Bernard Garding, her sisters, Rosa Olmscheid, Viola Rothstein, Lorraine Bellmont and Marie Hennen.
