Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at Church of Our Lady, Manannah for Coletta C. Meyer, age 91, of Litchfield, who died Friday at Emmanuel Home. Msgr. Francis Garvey will officiate and burial will be at Assumption Cemetery, Eden Valley. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Church of Our Lady, Manannah and one hour prior to the services at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements were made by Dingmann's Eden Valley Funeral Home.
Coletta was born in Richmond August 19, 1916 to Henry and Magdeline (Kraemer) Meyer. She was the oldest of 12 children. She was united in marriage to Roman Meyer on November 21, 1939 in Richmond, MN. Coletta was a professional seamstress and worked at Daytons, Great Six, and independently. She was a member of Church of Our Lady where she belonged to Daughters of Isabella and Christian Women. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and Amalgamated and Textile Clothing Makers.
Survivors include her children, Mary Alice (Dale) Kalkbrenner of Litchfield, Richard (Yvonne) of Minneapolis, Ralph (Kathy) of Minneapolis; 7 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; siblings, Cathline Scanlon of Loretto, Donald (Barb) Meyer of Sauk Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Edmund, Linus, Vernon, Marcellus, Wilfred; sisters, Rufina Olson, Bernice Hoefer, Alice Backus and infant Erma Linda.
