The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Tony, will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 10, 2006 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Father Corwin Collins OSB will officiate and entombment will be in the church cemetery. Tony died Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital. There will be a visitation from 4 to 9 PM Thursday (TODAY) at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and one hour prior to the service at the church. Parish prayers will be at 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
Tony was born October 28, 1927 in Albany to John and Johanna (Lesser) Ebensteiner. He was raised on a farm south of Albany. He married Helen Ostendorf on September 26, 1950 in St. Anthony. During his lifetime, Tony drove milk truck for Henry Schiffler, was a policeman in Albany for a short time, and owned and operated his own oil delivery business in Albany. He also owned and operated Tonys Place in Albany and later worked as a construction laborer. In 1973, the couple moved to St. Cloud and he retired. Tony was an avid fisherman, gardener and devoted Catholic.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, Albany; daughters, Mary Jane (Robert) Aldrich, Stillwater, Doris Applegate, St. Cloud, Renee (Todd) Eskelson, Cold Spring, Joni (Jack) Hennen, Watkins, and Joyce (Dave) OHara, Rockville; sons, David (Millie), Albany, Duane (Elaine) Albany, Dennis (Vera) Rockville, and Daniel (Tammie) Albany; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Thelen, Albany, Jenny Locnikar, Albany, Evelyn Thelen, St. Martin, and Doreen Hodel, Sauk Rapids; and brother, Edmund, Cold Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Albin, George, and Elmer.
