The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Dolores J. Thelen, age 79 of Albany, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 30th at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Dolores died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. There will be a visitation from 4-9:00 PM Monday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and again after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church in Albany. Seven Dolors Christian Mothers and the St. Anns Society will pray at 7:30 PM followed by Seven Dolors parish prayers at 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home in Albany.
Dolores was born October 12, 1928 in Albany to John and Johanna (Lesser) Ebensteiner. She married Robert Thelen on June 13, 1951 in Seven Dolors Catholic Church, in Albany. With the exception of a couple of years, Dolores lived in the Albany area her entire life. She worked for Fingerhut for more than 30 years, first sewing seat covers and then working in the shipping department until she retired in 1994. Delores and Bob enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. in their motorhome. They loved hunting in the mountains out west every fall and many fishing trips to northern Minnesota and Canada. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and having the family together, especially at the holidays. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a very special part of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the Seven Dolors Christian Mothers and the St. Anns Society.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Bob, Albany; son, Terry (Lois Lemke) Thelen, Albany; daughters, Shirley (Larry) Moser, Albany and Sandy (Brian) Pflipsen, St. Joseph. She is also survived by her brother, Edmund (Doreen) Ebensteiner, Cold Spring and her sisters, Genny (Conrad) Locnikar, Albany; Evelyn (Mark) Thelen, St. Martin, Doreen (Ronald) Hodel, Sauk Rapids, 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Albin, Elmer and Tony Ebensteiner.
