Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Agnes R. Bell, age 97, who died Wednesday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. followed by a rosary and prayer with the Christian Women, St. Julian's Mission Group and Cold Spring American Legion Auxiliary on Sunday evening.
Ag was born in Cold Spring, MN to Fred and Barbara (Muggli) Stein. She married John P. Bell on November 13, 1930. Ag loved and cherished her family. She was a homemaker all her life. Ag enjoyed gardening, painting, quilting, needlework and was an avid sports fan. She was in the first graduating class of St. Boniface High School. Ag was a sacristan at St. Boniface Church for many years and was a recipient of the Bishop's Service Medal. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Christian Women, St. Julian's Mission Group and the Cold Spring American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Jack (Dolores) of Cold Spring, Elaine (Ron) Buettner of Minneapolis, Barb (Elmer) Walz of Richmond, Dolly (Don) Smith of Broad Run, VA, Julie (Bob) Manuel of Bloomington and Paul of Cold Spring; sisters-in-law, Del Stein and Irene Stein; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; brothers, Albert, Aloysious "Veach", Fr. Benjamin, OSB, Daniel, Fred "Fritz", Joseph, Roger, Victor, Timothy; sisters, Laura Weber, Philomene DiGiacomo, Julia Stein, Baby Barbara; daughter-in-law, Darlene Bell. Memorials are preferred to Assumption Campus Endowment Fund 715 1st St. N., Cold Spring, MN 56320.
