Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2007 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Norbert Henry Hemmesch, age 77, who died Tuesday at the Mother of Mercy Home in Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) and from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). Parish prayers at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Golden Smiles and Knights of Columbus at 4:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
Norbert was born in Munson Township, MN to Henry and Margaret (Feinhage) Hemmesch. He married Mildred Anna Jungels on October 25, 1950 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN. Norbert farmed west of Richmond all his life. He loved farming, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid Twins fan. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his children, Ronald, Denis (Michelle) of Richmond, Linus of Eden Valley, Bernice (Warren) Eiden of Holdingford, Shirley (Ervin) Boeckers of Adell, WI and Dorothy Culver of Avon; brothers, Ervin of Roscoe, Edward, Harold, Alex, and Cyril all of Richmond; 20 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (2004); infant twin daughters and sister, Loretta Klehr.
