Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Beata A. "Betty" Schulzetenberg, 70, who died Sunday at Melrose Area Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 tonight and from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. The Daughters of Isabella will pray at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home in Melrose followed by Melrose Christian Mothers at 7, Legion Auxiliary at 7:30 and parish prayers at 8:30.
Beata Schulzetenberg was born in Grove Township, Stearns County, to John and Mary (Brus) Uphus. She married Lee Schulzetenberg on June 26, 1947, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Greenwald. The couple farmed near Greenwald for 42 years until retiring and moving to Melrose in 1989. She was a partner in a cleaning business based in Melrose for seven years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, MCCL and Melrose American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Lake Henry Legion Auxiliary and a past member of St. Mary's Liturgy Committee.
Survivors include her husband; daughters and sons, Pat Seanger and Sharon "Sheri" Rademacher of Melrose, Bob of St. Cloud, Kathy Haider of Elrosa, Rick of Maple Grove, Kevin of St. Joseph, and Kim Zupan of Prior Lake; brothers and sisters, Eddie of Belgrade, Irene Leukam of Sauk Centre, Fritz of Greenwald, and Jeanette Baltes of Alexandria; stepbrother, Ken Loxterkamp of Cologne; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Marie Winning, Barney, Leander, Celestine, Norbert, Donna and Sylvina; and stepmother, Bertha Uphus.
