Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin Catholic Church for Frances Rothstein, 81, who died Tuesday at Koronis Manor, Paynesville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour before services Saturday at the St. Martin Parish Hall. St. Ann's Society, the Rosary Society and the Catholic Aid Society will pray at 7 p.m. Friday at the parish hall followed by parish prayers at 8. Arrangements were made by Brenny Funeral Home, Albany.
Frances Rothstein was born in St. Martin to John H. and Elizabeth (Fischbach) Orbeck. She married Willibald Rothstein on Aug. 29, 1931, in St. Martin. She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society, Rosary Society and Catholic Aid Society. She also was a member of the St. Mary's Mission Group and was a former Cub Scout leader.
Survivors include her children, James, Roger, Yvonne Kern and Harvey of St. Martin, Alcuin of Maple Grove, Melvin of Hutchinson, Joan Holthaus and Clarice Holthaus of Richmond, Margie Houg of Cold Spring, Eileen Schoenecker of Maplewood, Duane of Cedar City, Utah, and Eugene of Glencoe; 39 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Genevieve Rothstein of St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 10, 1998; one infant son; one granddaughter; and sister and brothers, Alvina Schaefer, John, Joseph and Clarence.
