Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon on Friday, August 7, 2009 at St. Augustines Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Genevieve E. (Orbeck) Rothstein, age 87, of St. Cloud. Genevieve passed away peacefully on August 3, 2009 at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud with her family at her side. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud. Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue after 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Genevieve was born on January 22, 1922 in St. Martin to John and Elizabeth (Fischbach) Orbeck. She married Leander Rothstein on October 4, 1943 in Spring Hill, Minnesota. They raised 12 children on a farm near Pearl Lake.
Genevieve was active with many organizations throughout the community and was a member of St. Augustines Parish.
Genevieve is survived by her children, Dorothy (Harry) Molumby of South San Francisco, CA, John (Sandy) of New Hope, Luella (Leo) Louis of Paynesville, Marvin (Connie) of Staples, Robert of Kimball, David (Yvonne) of Sauk Rapids, Susan (Larry) Linnemeyer of Cambridge, Arthur (Donna) of Clearwater, Lawrence (Vicki) of Moundsview, Jane (Millard) Hickman of Litchfield, Teresa (Joe) Borgstrom of Buffalo, and MaryAnn (Steve) Edwards of Kimball; 32 grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 21, 2006; parents; two infant children, great granddaughter Charlotte Louis, and sisters Alvina Schaefer, Frances Rothstein, and brothers John, Joseph and Clarence.
