Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Alois Arceneau, age 83, who died Thursday at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday (TODAY) and from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Parish Hall in St. Martin. The St. Martin Lions, Fire Department, Men's Society and Knights of Columbus will pray at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Arrangements with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.
Alois was born in St. Martin, MN to John and Theresia (Blonigen) Arceneau. He farmed until 1963 and then was a carpenter until he retired. Alois enjoyed fishing, bowling and was an avid St. Martin baseball fan. He is a member of St. Martin Parish, Men's Society, Knights of Columbus, former member of the St. Martin Fire Dept. and was a St. Martin Lions Club Melvin Jones recipient.
Survivors include his sisters, Margaret Hellmann of Albany, Anna Mae Schneider of Meier Grove; brothers, Bernard (Joan) of Elrosa and Elmer (Lucille) of St. Martin; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers, Hildagard Lemke, Jenny Blommel, Norbert, Edwin, Clarence, Dorothy Wenker, Betty Herzog and Della Feldewerd.
