Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Rose F. Beckermann, 92, who died Monday at Pine Villa Care Center. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Pine Villa Chapel and from 4:30 to 9 tonight and from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. Christian Mothers will pray at 7 tonight at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 8.
Rose Beckermann was born in Getty Township, Stearns County, to Herman and Wilhelmina (Wehlage) Berns. She married Edmund Beckermann on Oct. 30, 1934, at St. John's Catholic Church, Meire Grove. The couple lived in Melrose. She moved to Park View Center in 1989 and to Pine Villa Care Center earlier this year. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers and a former member of Centre Squares Square Dancing Club.
She is survived by her children, Vern of Sauk Centre, John of Detroit Lakes, Joe of Melrose, Harvey of Spicer, Brother Julius, OSB, of Collegeville, Jim of Juneau, Alaska, Hank of Coon Rapids, Fran of Brooklyn Park, Pete of Bricelyn, and Pat of Centerville, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and brother, John of Sauk Centre.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 26, 1990; and sisters and brothers, Anna Marthaler, Ledvina Welle, Beata, Henry and Joe. Memorials are preferred.
