Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Leo H. Hinnenkamp, 87, who died Wednesday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. St. Bernard's Society will pray at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 Sunday at the funeral home in Melrose.

Leo Hinnenkamp was born in Melrose Township, Stearns County, to Henry and Agnes (Pohlmann) Hinnenkamp. He married Loretta Steinemann on Oct. 13, 1936, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Melrose. He farmed in Melrose Township and was also employed for seven years at Munson Feed, Melrose. He worked as a boiler engineer at Kraft Foods, Albany, for 11 years and then at Jennie-O Foods, Melrose, from 1982 until retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose, St. Bernard's Society, the Minnesota Steam Engine Association and the Stearns County Pioneer Club.

Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Joseph of Osakis, Leander of Shakopee, Caroline Haider of Calio, N.D., Helen Brake of Ward Springs, Elizabeth Escher of Melrose, Daniel of Cold Spring, Rose Lyn Worrel of North St. Paul, John of Sauk Centre, and Leon of Annandale; sisters, Elsie Hellermann, Loretta Mehr and Marie Primus of Melrose; 26 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Boniface and Norbert. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose.
