Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose for Loretta Hinnenkamp who died peacefully on Wednesday, March 19 at the St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers and Saints Bernard & Elizabeth Council will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Loretta Hinnenkamp was born May 19, 1917 in Melrose to Henry and Elizabeth (Osterhaus) Steinemann. She attended the Petermeier Country School NE of Melrose. On October 13, 1936 she married Leo H. Hinnenkamp in Melrose. She was a homemaker all her life. Loretta was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, Saints Bernard & Elizabeth Council and a life member of the Stearns County Pioneer Club in Albany. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, embroidery sewing, and most of all, loved the company of children.

Survivors include her children, Joe (Darlyne) Hinnenkamp of Eagle Bend, Lee (Betty) Hinnenkamp of Shakopee, Caroline Haider of Calio, ND, Helen Brake of Ward Springs, Elizabeth (Ben) Escher of Melrose, Dan (Janet) Hinnenkamp of Cold Spring, Rose Lyn (Jerry) Worrel of No. St. Paul, John (Linda) Hinnenkamp of Sauk Centre, and Leon (Patti) Hinnenkamp of Annandale; 27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Josepha Kerfeld of Melrose and Adelle (Norb) Renneker of Freeport.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Hinnenkamp on January 5, 2000; sister and brothers, Marie Dullinger, Joe Steinemann, and Henry Steinemann, Jr.
