Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose for Loretta Mehr who died Thursday, December 23 at St. Benedict's Center in St. Cloud. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m. at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers, St. Elizabeth's Society and Ladies Auxiliary VFW will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Monday evening.
Loretta Mehr was born in Melrose to Henry A. and Agnes (Pohlmann) Hinnenkamp. She was united in marriage to Michael H. Mehr, Sr. on November 28, 1945 in Melrose. She was a past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, St. Elizabeth's Society and Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Ralph Mehr (Mary Ann) of Melrose, Elizabeth Ann Sudyk (Jack) of St. Michael, Mary Hansen (Ronald) of Annandale, Roger Mehr (Marge) of Melrose, Margaret Arneberg (Robert) of Maplewood and Michael Mehr (Lori) of Eagan; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Elsie Hellermann of Melrose and Marie Primus of Melrose.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Norbert, Boniface and Leo Hinnenkamp. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church and/or St. Benedict's Senior Community/Memory Care Unit in Monticello.
