Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5th at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre for Lawrence B. Marthaler, 94, who died Wednesday at his home. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Sauk Centre Seniors will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. and St. Paul's Catholic Aid at 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
He is survived by eight children, Robert (Bernice) Marthaler of Pipestone, Virgil (Rosie) Marthaler, Larry (Kathy Funk) Marthaler, Rose Ann (Roger) Schaefer, David (Tammy) Marthaler, Mary (Dan) Borgerding, all of Sauk Centre, Richard (Vickie) Marthaler of Clarkfield, Nancy Marthaler of Anoka; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Edwina Meyer of Albany, Mayme (Ray) Imdieke of Greenwald; Lydia (Roman) Schulzetenberg of Melrose.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta on Nov. 15, 1999; brothers, John, Al, Albert, Erwin and Gilbert Marthaler.
