Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon, for Lorraine A. Zierden, who died at home on Monday. Friends and relatives may call from 4 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 25th at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon and also at the church Friday after 9:30 a.m. Parish prayers will be at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday followed by Christian Women at 7 p.m. Reverend Blane Wasnie, OSB will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Benedict's Catholic Church Parish Cemetery in Avon.
Lorraine was born in Albany to the late Henry and Anna (Klier) Ramacher. She married Walter P. Zierden on May 5, 1953 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Lorraine enjoyed her job at St. John's working in her flower gardens, farming, and spending time at the family cabin. Mom enjoyed listening to the loons and watching the deer.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Gerard (Diane) of Farming, Michael (Lyn) of Holt, FL, Elizabeth (Mark) Hennen of St. Cloud, Dona (Kevin) Ramler of Avon, Stephen of Backus, Shirley Zierden of Avon, Aurora Zierden of Navarre, FL; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Schlicht of Freeport, Lois (Al) Ciliske of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter on August 25, 2006; daughter, Jean Marie Zierden; brother, Melvin and infant sister, Mildred.
