AGNES M. BARTHLE, 82, of St. Joseph, died Thursday at Dade City Geriatric Center. A native of Gregory, S.D., she moved to this area 59 years ago. She owned and operated the Barthle's Dairy along with her husband and was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America in Gregory.
She was the great-grandmother of Jennifer Odom. She is survived by eight children, Margie Denney of St. Joseph, Joan Petters of St. Joseph, Connie Carr of Land O' Lakes, Dan of Ridgecrest, Calif., Cinda (The Tampa Tribune, 389

Sept 1933 - Arrived in Brooksville on the Bus. Stanley Burnside and his family gave her a lift to San Antonio looking for Mary Ruffing. No one knew who Mary was except the postmaster who knew she married Nick Shroeder. Sept 1933 - June 1934 Stayed with Nick and Mary Ruffing Shroeder to recover from rheumatoid arthritis. Met August Barthle during her stay.
Sept 1934 - June 1935 Taught school again in Carlock
Sept 6,1935 Married August Barthle in Saint Joseph Sacred Heart Church. Father Charles officiated.

July 1983 Retired from commuting to Tampa for childcare duties.

1984 - 1989 Took care of Monica's and Renee's children at her home.
July 1991 Began residence at the Edwinola
April 1992 Attended Mass at Sacred Heart Church (St. Joe) for the last time (Jessica Odom Converse's First Communion).
July 1992 (3weeks) Stayed at a private residence in Tampa .
August 1992 Began residence at the Dade City Geriatric Center.
Sept 1992 Suffered a stroke that left her speech impaired.
April 7, 1994 Passed away at 10:17AM.

I have your moost wellcom letter I se you all ar fine, thats is verey good we have had too hot and dry for corn et is hurt bad in suom fields small grains is good 25 to 40 Bu. sum batre John and Bessie was com July 25 and went Back the 29 the the had bin to the Black hills on ther vacatin. the Boys got sum fine catle the ar fatt, we were out there with Johns Folks. that is 3 weeks a go, now we have had no rain to speek of sins, Chas is trashing dont know haw muth he has left Every Body well James Folks have a girl at there place was Born the 12 a week a go to day I am about the same, I lay araund the house the moost of the time I hope you can get what youwant I have tried to rember sume and sume is in my memorandas as a yung man I had good memory up to I had the run awa. the culd tell me tings I wold not forget I was Born up in the cuntry the had no Picture tackers so I have non of my folks, before we yung Folks got Down to gutenborg the we all had sume taken I will send a set of your onkeels aunts and cossins, I had send grups mostly the Boys had sum one with them, thees is the best, only Wolford whiting, you dont need to send them us I have moore of them in diforent settings, your and char's I two settings left, I culd have don these sooner but I waited on the grup to get here I shuld went after el direckt, but I will give you our gran Parens history as good as I can, my Dads father was a Soldier in the war when Russia, tried to take finland from Sweden in 1810-1811 he neve cam back, my Dad was Born in 1810 his name was Carl Magnus Larson, his mother I dont rember hering her nam or when she Died, Dad was raised by his aunt to he was a man, he was a carpenter by trade, he marriede and had 6 sons 3 Died yung, 3 lived to old ageshe Died at the last confinement 1858, then he married my mother in 1859 the moved to my Birth place, the had a girl Born 1861 she leved just 4 day's, I was Born October 25- 1863 then Oivia was Born march 4th 1866 and Johan may 16th 1869 he Died in 1875 of Depteria, we all had that mothers namwas Inga Kaysa oldson was Born 1824 had 2 systers 6 Brothers the ware harmers, gran folkers folks had leved there for genartions on the same place, I was to ther places before I left that part Dad tuck a bad cold in harvest 1873 as the had no Doctors up there only quack doctors, the cokd not help him he lingerd along to may the day after white Sunday 1874 he Died, that left mother with all the worry, and tuck moost of the mon. too, I 10 1/2 year old, mothers sent me to her systers to let her konw, from that on I remember all moost every ting, I had to start to help I herdet catle in fall for 2 years so to help what litle I culd, then in 1876 she wanted to put up sum torv for winter fuel ( turf is made of Dekayed mass, the have what the call petbogs that the work over and then dry et maks good fuet but et is hard work to put et up) she got 3 men to help, and she figeired with my help she culd spread et, we wokt 2 days and we got don, we had about a 1/2 or 3/4 togo home, she com planed she was tired when we ware near home about 20 rods, she gave out an I allmoost had to carry her we had a hard time to get ther, I had to get her cloos of to bed the best I culd. I sent syster after aunt, mother had now a hyfever and got wors she was that way for 3 days, then the 4th day she had not so mutch pain she was more rational, I had ben by her bed allmoost cuntinuly so aunt told me to lay dow, and I did in the after noon mother called me she askt to kneel dow by the bed and I did she placed her hand on my head, and talket to me, gave me good advice and good wanings that I hope I will never forgate, I have tried to follow that warning in my doings a lot, but failed a lot at that. I started no habet I culd not conker after mothers Death, our gardian took holt Dady apointed a gardian for us 3 Kids, before he Died but Johan Died next year, well the gardian tuck me, and got a famtey to take syster she was these 8 years then she com to Gotenburg abou 2 years later she was marriade to Carl N. Wallen he warkt in a Beer= Bruwery he workt there all his life he Died 1931 the had 5 sons Gustan and Wolrat you know them the ar here in this country George and Walter the ar in the same pace ther Dad workt and Klas was there too, but he had sum sicknes two years ago that made him paralized, I had a letter from Oivia 2 monts ago he is no batre, so et is a dout ef he ever will. oivia she gets Pension from the coupany, wher Carl workt, so she gots along the half Brothers, johanes was Born th 24 of june 1845 he workt in a hardware Establisment form 1874 to 1931 the year he Died 85 year old past he was not marriade anders was Born the 20 of april 1848 he was marriade had no Kids he work in sum big offece he was allwis well Dressed I dont remember the buisnes, he was not strong in late years he Died 1919 adn Brother august was Born the 13 of Februry 1851 he married miss lotta Pearson had one girl two sons, Thora is married and has a few kids, I dont know3 how manny, John tells me the write him in english when the write Kans he owns a big grosery store in Gutenburg, John and bessie the ware here on a visit com july 25 go back 28, august tock john and put him in buisnes collag at minaeapolis the parted at night, he got killd by gas that night the 2 Feruary 1914 he was buruid these that is about I know

I am sorry, I forgot to send you this chart with the letter yesterday et shows you quickly what you want to know about the gan Parents et is mot muth , as I was too small to inquire muth about themm my mothers parents was Dead befor my time just larned the had allwis lived there, till awa back and their names, no date I rember I think the idea is fine, only, what I can suply is incomplet, but thats all I know hoping uou all good healt and hapine allwis Dady abe.
ps. I miss wright so muth, I am not certan et is clear to you now plear try to make et out I can't write whit nothing ells but pencil, a pen dont work at all, I got that shake there yet, but go slow et's work very well
