The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Henry F. Wielenberg, age 98 of Holdingford, will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 2, at the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Francis. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Henry died Monday at River Birch Residence in Holdingford. There will be a visitation from 4-9:00 PM Wednesday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and again after 10:00 Thursday at the church in St. Francis. St. Francis Parish prayers will be at 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home in Albany.
Henry was born September 9, 1908 in Melrose Township to Frank and Elizabeth (Gramke) Wielenberg. He lived in the Stearns County area all of his life. He married Alvina Hollermann on May 29, 1934 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple farmed together until Henry retired in 1972. Henry moved to the River Birch Residence in 2004, after Alvina died. Henry was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, The St. Francis Men's Society and Catholic Aid.
Henry is survived by his children, Alvin (Jackie) Wielenberg, Burtrum; Hilda (Ray) Barthel, Holdingford; Hermie (Irene) Wielenberg, Albany; Millie (Vern) Gerads, Albany; Herb (Sharon) Wielenberg, Freeport; daugher-in-law, Peggy Wielenberg,Cleveland, OH; sisters, Magdeline Soenneker, New Munich; Bertha Fuechtman, Long Prairie, Alvina Strom, Melrose and Marie Bosl, Sauk Centre. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alvina on November 24, 2004, his son, Norbert Wielenberg, his sisters and brothers, Anna, Agnes, Edwin and Joseph.
