Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Loretta Susan Meyer, age 88 of Albany, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Father Corwin Collins, OSB will officiate. Loretta died Thursday at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday, September 17, 2007 and again after 10:00 AM Tuesday at Seven Dolors Parish Center. Christian Mothers and St. Ann's Society will pray at 7:30 PM followed by parish prayers at 8:00 PM Monday at the church.

Loretta was born March 29, 1919 in New Munich, to Leo and Carrie (Nathe) Schwieters. She married Frank B. Meyer on September 11, 1940 in Greenwald. Following their marriage, Loretta and Frank moved to Albany. Loretta enjoyed having family to the house for big meals and laughter. She especially enjoyed every new grandchild arriving at the house. Upon arrival at the house you would find her in the kitchen cooking and baking. She enjoyed spending her extra time sewing and quilting alone and with her friends. She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, St. Ann's Society, Albany Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and Mother Cabrini Mission Group.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Day of Avon, Glenn (Dianne) Meyer of Plymouth, Gary (Jeanine) Meyer of Bloomington, Greg Meyer of St. Paul, Mary Lee (Gary) Garbe of Andover, Gordon Meyer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Geoff (Cathy) Meyer of Belgrade, Montana; fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Marcella Uphoff of Avon, Charlene (Jack) Ohmann of Greenwald, Jeanette (Al) Barton of Marshalltown, Iowa; Joan (Jerry) Ehresmann of St. Cloud, Anthony (Ann Marie) Schweiters of Greenwald and Herbert (Aurelia) Schweiters of Greenwald; and by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant twin boys Jeff and Joel Meyer, infant grandchild, Heidi Meyer, infant sister, Rose Schweiters, sister and brothers-in-law, Delores and Edwin Wehlage, Vess Uphoff, one niece, Kathy Ohmann, and four nephews, Dale Uphoff and Leo Schweiters, Tim Ehresmann, and Cole Bradstad. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Albany Knights of Columbus or Seven Dolors Catholic Church.
