Wilfred Michael Stroeing, age 76, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, June 8, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Wilfred will be Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Waite Park, MN. Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Wilfred was born March 31, 1931 in St. Martin Township, Stearns County, MN to Frank and Anna (Buettner) Stroeing. He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1952 -1954. He was employed as a mason in commercial construction. Wilfred was a member of St. Cloud, VFW Post 428 and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waite Park. Wilfred enjoyed hunting fishing and cooking, along with arts and crafts and working his garden.
Survivors include his children, Melissa Stroeing of St. Cloud, MN; Anna Brabender of Boyd, MN; Michael Montag of Boyd, MN; Rebecca (Michael) Voit of St. Cloud, MN; JoLynn Loch of New Ulm, MN; Todd Wold of Duluth, MN; four grandchildren, Cherish Cartie, Jason Loch, Allen Loch, Amanda Loch and six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lee Honer of St Joseph, MN; Mary Ellen Rosen of Freeport, MN; Evelyn Voller of Melrose, MN; Sylvester Stroeing of Freeport, MN; Vernon Stroeing of Freeport, MN; Marvin Stroeing of New Munich, MN; and Rita Stang of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandson Nicholas Loch, brother Cellestine Stroeing, and sister Dorothy Stroeing.
