Services will be 11 a.m. Sat. at St. John¹s Catholic Church in Meire Grove for Dorothy Marthaler who died Tues. at Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Fri. & 8-10:30 a.m. Sat. at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Saint Mary¹s Society, Holy Rosary Society & Poor Soul¹s Society will pray at 7 p.m., Rockville Fire Department will pray at 7:30, followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. on Friday.
Dorothy Marthaler was born in Meire Grove to Herman & Veronica (Schulte) Imdieke. She married Alphonse Marthaler on Nov. 18, 1929, at St. John¹s Catholic Church in Meire Grove. Dorothy was a homemaker all her life & enjoyed gardening. She was a member of St. John¹s Catholic Church, St. Mary¹s Society, Holy Rosary Society & Poor Soul¹s Society.
Survivors include her children, LaVina Walz of Baldwin, WI, Melvin Marthaler (Lucille) of Rockville, Dorothy Lembeck (Allen) of Spring Hill, Clarine Stalberger of Meire Grove, Dennis Marthaler of Minneapolis, & Jan Kalstrom (Wil) of St. Cloud; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; sisters & brothers, Susan Inderieden of Melrose, Rose Fladung (Norb) of Blackduck, Sister Clare Imdieke of St. Scholastica, & Hermie & Albert Imdieke of Meire Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on July 9, 1955; brother, Norbert Imdieke; sons-in-law, Lindy Walz & Cyril Stalberger. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
