Eleanor Nathe Tiemann was born on 16 Apr 1897 in Meire Grove, MN, to Hermann Nathe and Katherina Ortmann Nathe. She was the 9th of 14 children born to Hermann and Katherina (Ortmann) Nathe. On 18 May 1926, when Eleanor was 29 years old, she married Joseph Tiemann, the son of Frank & Johanna (Hinnenkamp) Tiemann, in Meire Grove, MN. The couple farmed in Section 26 of Melrose Township - approx 1 mile north of the City of Melrose. In the 1970s, they sold the farm and moved to Riverside Drive in Melrose, MN. Joe & Eleanor had no children.

Eleanor Tiemann died on 24 Sep 1974; age 77, at the Pine Villa Nursing Home in Melrose, MN. The funeral and burial took place at St. Mary's Church in Melrose, MN on Thursday, September 24, 1974 with Rev Larence Bohnen officiating and Fr. Henry Miller and Fr. Giles Nathe con-celebrating.

Eleanor Nathe Tiemann is survived by her husband, Joe Tiemann, brothers Ted Nathe, Fred Nathe, sisters Ceil (Leo) Klaphake and Bernadette McCoy. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben, Ed, Mike, Hubert and Norbert Nathe; sisters Anna (Henry) Stroeing and Jennie (Frank) Reller.
