Thomas W. Beaumont, Jr., 73, of Savannah, died Janury 3, 2003, at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up in Pennsylvania and Florida. Mr. Beaumont joined the U. S. Air Force and served in England, France, Texas, Scotland, Vietnam, Florida, and Georgia. He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 24 years and later retired from civil service at Hunter Army Airfield, where he was an education counselor for 16 years. He was a Communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church for 24 years and sang in the choir. He had an MBA from the University of Utah and a Masters of Adult Education from Florida State Atlantic. He was a Vietnam veteran and received numerous honors, including medals for National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, U. S. Air Force Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, and an Achievement Medal for 40 years of service in the United States Government.
Survivors: his wife of 49 years, Elsa Beaumont of Savannah; two sons, Thomas Beaumont III of Bluffton, SC, and Michael Beaumont of Marietta, GA; two daughters, Madeline Wirt of Gainesville, GA, and Jennifer Lossing of Savannah; three brothers, Robert Beaumont of San Antonio, FL, William Beaumont of Fort Myers, FL, and Tim Beaumont of Tampa, FL; three sisters, Jeanne Winner of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary Schrader of San Antonio, FL, and Madeline Beaumont of Dade City, FL; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 2:00 p. m., Sunday, St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial: Catholic Cemetery - Dogwood Section.
