The Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating the life of Elizabeth (Elsie) M. Mohr, age 87 of Freeport, will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 13, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Elizabeth died Friday at her home. Friends may call from 4-9:00 PM Tuesday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and after 9:30 Wednesday at the church in St. Francis. There will be a rosary at 7:00 PM followed by St. Francis of Assisi parish prayers at 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Albany.
Elizabeth was born December 9, 1915 in Millwood Township (St. Rose) to Bernard and Anna (Herkenhoff) Wiechmann. She married Edmund Mohr on October 5, 1938 in St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church in St. Rose. The couple lived together in St. Francis until Edmunds death. Elizabeth is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Francis Christian Mothers and the St. Francis Sewing Circle.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Eugene (Elizabeth Ann) Mohr, St. Louis Park; Lucille Franke, Annandale; Anna Mae (Leo) Beste, Kimball; Margaret Larson, Freeport; Eileen Zierden, Hackensack; Bernadette Marleau, Roseville; Monica Ray, Hutchinson, KS; Alice Mohr, San Francisco, CA; Laura Mohr, Freeport and Michael Mohr, St. Louis Park. She is also survived by her sister, Marie Koll, Clearwater; brothers, Alphonse Wiechmann, Belgrade, Alois Wiechmann, Freeport, 18 grandchildren and 18 great-granchildren.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Tony, Walter, and Wilfred Wiechmann and her sister, Katherine Klassen.
