Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Laura Hildegard Mohr, 53, of Freeport will be 10:30 AM, Monday, December 15, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis. Fr. Gregory Ombok will officiate and burial will take place in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, December 14, 2008 at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be Sunday at 6:00 PM at the funeral home in Albany. Laura died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Melrose Hospital. Arrangements by the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home, Albany.
Laura was born April 26, 1955 to Edmund and Elizabeth M. (Wiechmann) Mohr. Laura resided near St. Francis until 2005 when she moved to the Nadine Kretsch Foster Care Home, near Elrosa. Laura was active in WACOSA and Special Olympics. She was a member of St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church. Laura enjoyed playing cards, watching Price Is Right and Wheel Of Fortune on TV, and listening to old time music on KASM radio.
She is survived by her siblings, Eugene (Elizabeth Ann) Mohr, St. Louis Park, Lucille Franke, Annandale, Anna Mae (Leo) Beste, Kimball, Margaret Larson, Freeport, Eileen Zierden, Hackensack, Bernadette Marleau, Roseville, Monica Ray, Hutchinson, Kansas; Alice Mohr, Las Vegas, Nevada; and Michael Mohr, Hackensack. eighteen nieces and nephews, nineteen great nieces and nephews; and one great great niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
