Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church for Vince B. Mackedanz, 69, who died Thursday at Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria. Military honors will be provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Sauk Centre. A United Veterans prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre followed by parish prayers at 8.

Vince Mackedanz was born on Feb. 10, 1930, in Eden Lake Township, Stearns County, to Bernard and Anna (Flint) Mackedanz. He married Joan Solga on Oct. 23, 1951, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Browerville. He was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. The couple lived in Keewatin where he was employed by the Mesabi Range Railroad. They moved to St. Cloud where he was employed by Lakeland Bakeries. The couple moved to Sauk Centre in 1955. From 1979 to 1982, he was employed by Hennington Insurance Agency. He worked as a bartender at Tic Toc Bar from 1982 to 1992. He was also a school bus driver for 22 years with Sauk Centre Public Schools. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853.Survivors include his wife; sons, Bruce of Cologne and Pat of Mora; sisters and brothers, Julitta Schmitz and Agnes Piene of Richmond, Louise Mehr of St. Martin, Ralph and LeRoy of Paynesville and Jerome of Elk River; and 11 grandchildren.
