GODWIN, WILLIAM ALTON "RED," 77, of Mango, died Friday (Sept. 22, 1995) in Gainesville. Born in Mango, he was a retired welder and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tampa. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary H., Mango; seven sons, Lewis Alton, New Rochelle, N.Y., James A., Orlando, Roger A., Valrico, George G., Seffner, and Robert J., William W. and Chester L., all of Mango; two daughters, Christine Meares, Brooksville, and Mary Johnson, Niceville; two brothers, C. Louvine, Land O'Lakes, and Davy L., Tampa; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. F. T. Blount Funeral Home, Nebraska Avenue Chapel, Tampa.
