Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 29 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre for Mathilda Dusek who died Tuesday, June 26 at the St. Michaels Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church in Sauk Centre.
Mathilda Dusek was born February 20, 1906 in Sauk Centre to Charles and Mary (Novak) Kortan. On October 25, 1927 she married Jerome P. Dusek in Sauk Centre. The couple lived in Sauk Centre all their lives. Tillie worked as a cook at the Palmer House, Waldorf, Theatre Café, and Main Street Café. She loved to work and was a great cook. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. Tillie was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children, Marlyce Borchert (Arnold) of Grantsburg, WI, Marian Barber (Wayne) of Indianapolis, IN, Joanna Jents of Chicago, IL, and Jerome Dewey Dusek of Sauk Centre; six grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; sister and brothers, Helen Norgarden of Sauk Centre, George Kortan (Rose) of Paynesville, and Richard Kortan (Joan) of Sauk Centre.
Mathilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome P. Dusek on March 19, 1971; son Robert Dusek; brothers, Bill, Frank, Steve, Charlie, and Jim Kortan; and sister, Evelyn Zehrer.
