Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Andrew J. Lieser, age 89, of Cold Spring and formerly of Paynesville who passed away peacefully on January 12, 2008 at his home. Entombment will take place in the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16 at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville. St. Louis Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid and St. Joseph's Men's Society will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Andrew was born August 17, 1918 near Lake Henry, MN to Nicholas and Elizabeth (Schoenhoff) Lieser. He married Bergetta M. Gruber on October 5, 1943 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Henry. The couple farmed near Lake Henry until they retired to Paynesville in 1981. They made their home in Cold Spring since 1998. They enjoyed traveling to new places and visiting with their family and friends. Bergetta passed away April 15, 2005. Andrew will be remem-bered for his love of inter-action with everyone he met. Andrew was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Louis Knights of Columbus, St. Louis Catholic Aid and St. Joseph's Men's Society of Lake Henry.
Andrew is survived by his children Duane (Jan) of Sauk Centre, Dianne (Ed) Budde of Melrose, Gene (Sue) of Circle Pines, Dan (Karen) of Gilman, Harvey (Marilyn) of Lake Henry, Mary Lee (Jarett) Hemmesch of Cold Spring, Linda (Steve) Hittle of Colorado Springs, CO and Brenda (Dana) Timm of Cold Spring, 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and sisters-in-law Imelda Lieser and Marcie Lieser of Paynesville.
Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bergetta, infant son John, infant grandson Matthew Lieser, daughter-in-law Diane Lieser and brothers and sisters Hilda, Dora, Edmund, Jacob, Serah, Thecla, Victor and Henry.
