Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church for Henry J. Lieser, 83, who died Monday at Koronis Manor. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville, and one hour before services Friday at the church in Paynesville. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand Honor Guard from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Paynesville. St. Louis Christian Women and St. Isadore's Mission Group will pray at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Paynesville followed by parish prayers at 8 and St. Louis Knights of Columbus, St. Michael's Men's Society, the Daughters of Isabella and Paynesville Catholic Aid Association at 8:30.
Henry Lieser was born in Lake Henry to Nicholas and Elizabeth (Schoenhoff) Lieser. He married Marcella Lieser on May 6, 1947, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spring Hill. The couple farmed in the Spring Hill area until February 1988, when they retired and moved to Paynesville. He also worked as an agent with the Paynesville and Zion Insurance Co. for 21 years and later was the chairman of the board. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Crosier Apostolate, the Polka Lovers Club of America, the Paynesville Catholic Aid Association, where he was an officer, St. Isadore's Mission Group, St. Michael's Men's Society of Spring Hill, was a past Grand Knight of the St. Louis Knights of Columbus and was past Faithful Navigator and Comptroller of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus of Sauk Centre. He also was involved with the church as a Eucharistic minister and at nursing homes, an usher, an adult Mass server for weekday masses and funerals, and a member of the St. Michael's Choir for many years.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Karen Dobmeier of Bloomington, LuAnn Loxtercamp of Paynesville, Mary Faber of Sartell, and Kim Meyer of Spring Hill; five grandchildren; and brother, Andrew of Cold Spring.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, in 1991; and sisters and brothers, Hilda Leukam, Dora Winter, Thecla Spanier, and Serah Bertram, Edmund, Jacob and Victor.
