Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Roman N. Lahr age 86 of Paynesville who died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Revered Richard Leisen will officiate. Entombment will be at the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum in Paynesville. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. The Knights of Columbus Council # 3820 will pray at 7:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
Arrangements were by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville.
Roman was born on December 16, 1920 in Richmond, Minnesota to Mathew and Mary (Kinzer) Lahr. He married Marie M. Scheierl on October 26, 1948 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. The couple farmed in Paynesville Township for 36 years until their retirement in 1988. Roman was a member of St. Louis Parish and Knights of Columbus Council #3820. Roman enjoyed being helpful on the farm, playing cards, fishing and being involved with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his two sons, Richard (Becky Koster) and Ronald of Paynesville; five grandchildren, Greg (Michelle) Reinhardt, Michele (Tim) Roberg, Angie, Ginni (Randy) Kerzman and Rick Lahr; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexia, Brooke, Mikayla and Grace; brothers, Math of Mannanah, Clarence of Cold Spring, Tony of St. Cloud and Art of Eden Valley; sisters, Irene Arnold of New Hope and Lucille Lahr of Eden Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on November 27, 2004; two infant children; brothers, John, Marcellus, Eugene and Albert; one sister, Marie Dahart.
