Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Marie M. Lahr age 83 of Paynesville who died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Paynesville Hospital. Reverend LeRoy Scheierl, Revered Richard Leisen and Reverend Mr. Richard Scheierl will officiate. Entombment will be at the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum in Paynesville. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. The Christian Women and Knights of Columbus Council # 3820 will pray at 7:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in Paynesville.
Marie was born on February 27, 1921 in Union Grove Township, Meeker County, Minnesota to Blasius and Anna (Meyer) Scheierl. She married Roman N. Lahr on October 26, 1948 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. The couple farmed in Paynesville Township for 36 years until their retirement in 1988. Marie was a member or St. Louis Parish and Christian Women. Marie enjoyed cooking and crocheting and being involved with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Roman; two sons, Richard and Ronald all of Paynesville; five grandchildren, Greg (Michelle) Rienhardt, Michele (Tim) Roberg, Angie, Ginni and Rick Lahr; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexia, Brooke and Mikayla; two sisters, Katherine (Elmer) Zirbes of Rockville and Caroline (Matt) Lahr of Mannanah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant children, brothers, George, Sylvester, Joseph, Henry, Anton, John, William and infant brother William.
