Walter H. Beuning, Sr., age 60, of Bemidji, Minnesota, died Sunday October 6, 2002 at the North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN with Fr. Bob Stone officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday October 11, 2002 and one hour prior to the service Saturday, both at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fern Township Cemetery, Hubbard County, Minnesota.
Honorary bearers will be all of his "Grandchildren". Casket bearers will be Mark Beuning, Paul Beuning, William Beuning, Robert Fell, Robert Rudnitski, and Luke Eberwine.
Walter Herman Beuning was born January 15, 1942 in Freeport, MN to Herman and Rose (Tell) Beuning. He attended farm school in Freeport through 8th grade. He worked for Traut Well Drilling. He married Patricia Susan Rogich March 11, 1978 in Sioux Falls, SD. He worked for North Star Drilling for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors, his dog "Maggie", polka music and his family.
He is survived by his wife - Patricia Beuning, Bemidji, 4 sons- Mark Beuning, Bemidji,Paul "Slip" Beuning, Vadnais Heights, Walter Beuning, Jr, Bemidji, William Beuning, Bemidji; 5 daughters - Rita (Bob Rudnitski) Atkinson, South Haven, MN,Rose (Robert) Fell, Bemidji, MN, Pauline (Mike) DeWenter, Cold Spring, Kristie (RJ)Ogniewski, Jacksonville, FL, Sarah (Luke) Eberwine, Bemidji; 19 grandchildren; 2 brothers - Anthony (Alvina) Beuning, Avon, and Norbert (Carol) Beuning, Burtrum, Mn; 6 sisters - Lorraine (Elmer) Hammond, Freeport, Theresa Roerick, Albany, Bernadine (Leo) Ettle, Freeport, Dorothy Wald, Avon, Irene Lund, St. Cloud, and Mary Jane (Arnold) Blommel Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Victor.
