Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Bertha I. Sinclair, 95, who died Thursday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph. St. Joseph Council of Catholic Women and Senior Citizens will pray at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 5.
Bertha Sinclair was born in Richmond to John and Mary (Korte) Hemmesch. She married Edward Sinclair on Sept. 27, 1932, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Richmond. They farmed in the St. Martin area until 1971, when they moved to St. Joseph. She became a resident of Assumption Home in Cold Spring in August 1999. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Council of Catholic Women, Senior Citizens and the St. Ann's Society and the Rosary Society of St. Martin.
Survivors include her children, Carol Butkowski of Cold Spring, James of Grey Eagle, Dennis of Arlington Heights, Ill., Kenneth of Maple Grove, Pat Collett of St. Joseph, and Shirley Funk of St. Cloud; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Gertrude Mackedanz of Richmond.
She was preceded in death her husband in January 2000; daughters, Joann Stanczyk and Eileen Nierengarten; and brothers and sisters, Henry, Martin, Albert, Aloys, Mary Loecken, Christine Fischbach, Veronica Ressemann, Monica Mehr, Emma Rothstein and Rose Wenner.
