Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Collegeville for Robert F. Pflueger, age 94, of Collegeville, who died Friday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Fr. Eugene McGlothlin, OSB, will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the church in Collegeville. Parish Prayers will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, followed by the St. Joseph Senior Citizens rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Robert was born October 3, 1909 in Collegeville Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Math and Elizabeth (Fruth) Pflueger. He married Louise Philippi on October 16, 1934 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph. He lived in Collegeville most of his life and worked for St. John's University for 44 years. He retired in 1974. He enjoyed following local sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and St. John's Football. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing cards and bingo.
Surviving Robert is his children: Herb (Dorothy) of St. Joseph, Alice (Dennis) Schmitt of St. Cloud, Jane (Bob) Simon of St. Joseph, Irma Hoffmann of St. Joseph, Mary Ann (Ron) Rennie of St. Joseph, David (Kathie) of Waite Park and Tom (Audrey) of St. Joseph, his daughter-in-law Mary Pflueger of St. Joseph, 27 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, his sister Veronica Westerhoff of Cold Spring and his brother John (Joan) Pflueger of St. Joseph.
Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Louise (2000), son Ray (1998) and brothers and sisters Mary Zazek, Caroline Silvers, Alfred, Herman and Ann Mayer. Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph made the arrangements.
