Wallis, William 1845
He signed his Will on June 19, 1840 and it was probated on May 5, 1845. The original Will is in the file. He gave his wife, Sarah Wallis, his plantation that he had lived on consisting of 400 acres and 3 Negroes who were Morgan, Edward and July for her lifetime or widowhood. (This Will is old and very hard to read) He left something to John Sheppard and William Wiley, his grandsons, He gave 55 acres to his son, Nickalas Wallis when he obtains the age of 21 and he gave his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wallis, Rebecca A. Wallis, Sarah A. L. Wallis, Marguerite M. Wallis and a name I cannot read, an equal share of his estate. He gave his son Zachariah Wallis, $50 and his daughter, Mary Wallis, $50. He appointed his wife as Executor (2 documents).

A paper puporting to be the Last Will and Testament of William Wallis, was propounded to the Court and being duly proven by the affidavit of Jesse L. Baker and John Meadows, was ordered to be recorded and that Sarah Wallace who was named as Executrix be sworn according to law.
Ordered that Allen summers, Peter Kimble, Joel Hinton, Thomas Anderson and Newton anderson be and they are hereby appointed appraisers of the estate of William Wallis.

It appearing to this Court that the Last Will and Testiment of William Wallis, deceased, has the following clause "provided nevertheless she (meaning the Executrix) is to make John Zaphnaphpaanah and William Wriley my grandson up equal with the fifty-five acres of land I have therefore given to my son Nicholas Wallis as they severally arive to the age of twenty-one years in land at a fair eveluation taking into view the quality of the land given to Nicholas. And it further appears that Sarah Wallis, the Executrix, has applied for distributors to lay off to Zaphnappaanah his portion of land agreeably to the Will of said deceased, it is therefore ordered that Robert Gwin, Samuel Broadnax, Joel Aycock, Newton Anderson and Jesse L. Baker be and they are hereby appointed distributors to lay off to Zaphnaphpaanah Wallis his portion of land devised to by the Lasr Will and Testament of William Wallace, deceased.
