- Martha Lester and daughters Mary Jane, Martha, Phebe and Rebecca were captured by Indians and were prisoners for about 5 years [1, page 2]- Martha Coppock Tomlinson and sisters were captured by the Indians that killed her father and brother Bartholomew. She probably married John Roose at that time. He was a half Cherokee Indian, all this happened before she married William Tomlinson. (They were captives for about five years before being rescued by white people. [1, page 2R]
