Leslie, who remained living with my grandparents, was diagnosed with Tuberculosis not long after Lola's death. My dad and grandmother undoubtedly had mild cases as well as did others in the family, although they showed no symptoms. Leslie, however, became quite ill with TB. There wasn't any money to send him to a sanitarium so after my grandparents bought the property at 17th and Gharkey Leslie was confined to a Summer kitchen detached from the house. He died in 1938 or 39, I don't remember which. Jane says she remembers only seeing him once because he was in isolation from practically the time she was born. [1][1] Email from ID0452, 24 Apr 2017
