OBITUARY
On Friday Afternoon, March 15, 1935, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Eveleth, near Carmel, the gentle spirit of Nona McShane Day, quietly slipped away from this earth and went to her eternal home.
She was the daughter of Frank and Sarah McShane and was born Aug. 15, 1871. In her young womanhood she was a teacher in the public schools of Hamilton county for several years. In April, 1900, she was married to John W. Day with who she lived happily for almost thirty years. Mr. Day passed away in April 1929. To this union were born two children, who died in infancy.
She with her husband was a faithful member of the M. E. church being a member, first at Pleasant Grove, then White Chapel, Bethel, and at the time of her death, a member of Ninth St. M. E. church, Noblesville. Her influence in the community where she lived and in the church to which she belonged commanded the respect and ove of all who knew her.
She was a happy cheerful Christian, and during her illness she spoke many times to her sister, Mrs. Eveleth, who was caring for her, of her faith and trust in her Savior and of her longing to be with Him. We speak of he realm of the b'est, That country so bright and so fair. And oft are its glories confessed But she knows what it is to be there
She leaves to mourn their loss, one brother, James McShane, of Michigan, two sisters, Alma Michener, of Winchester, Ind., Lena Eveleth, of near Carmel, nieces, Nephews and a host of friends [1]
